It’s been a long time with this download on my HDD but without time to test it. Today I want to see it working, all we are going to see it working.

I am very surprised with this virtual machine. Ready to run and works really fine. I have recorded a video for you to see it running too. You can download it from the Cisco Development Network, no need of register.

Once you have the download in your disk, decompress it and open in any VMware product, even Player. In the package we have the .vmx configuration file. Open it, and then push play. It will boot and get an IP address from your DHCP. If not you can go to the console and configure it manually.

Then only open your web browser and navigate to the virtual machine IP address. Navigate to UCS Manager Home and hit LAUNCH. Run the Java File and insert username config password config. That’s all. Ready to roll, time to test.

UCS Manager is a single system responsible for provisioning and management of multiple UCS Systems involved in the paradigm of Cisco Unified Communications, such as fabric switches and extenders and blade chassis and servers. The main concept is to have network, server and storage systems involved get together simplifying the management of the organization. We can set profiles and templates, just like with VMware VCenter. UCS Manager allows different duties including configuration, diags, discover, invetory, stats and auditing. We can configure server and fabric failover and high availability. The rest of the capabilities of this powerful system have to be discovered ourselves.
